Coldplay
Coldplay are one of those bands that has enjoyed both commercial and critical success, having sold over 40 million albums, been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and won may awards such as NME´s ‘Band of the Year’.
After spending their early ears spread across the UK the four band members, Chris Martin, Will Champion, Johnny Buckland and Guy Berryman met at University College London in 1996. It was a steady ascent to success from then on and they signed a major record deal with Parlophone in 1999.
One of the keys to the bands success has been the fact that they have always maintained control over their artistic direction- from song writing to album artwork. They formed with the intention of enjoying making good music and have remained true to this promise; their latest offering ‘Viva la Vida or Death and all his friends’ has once again proved to be popular with fans and critics.
The band are playing on the 6th September at the Palau St Jordi - what better place to catch this amazing band than in this amazing city, Barcelona?
