Cirque du Soleil is a spectacular experience and Quidam, the show currently in Barcelona maintains the high standard of thrilling acrobatics, artistic design and original music that we have come to expect of this very special circus. Premiering in 1996 this show has already delighted over 9 million spectators.
Quidam is quite a show to put together; there are approximately 250 costumes, 500 costume items and 200 shoes in Quidam! The age of the cast members varies from the oldest artist at 52 and the youngest is only 12.
A circus unlike any other, Cirque du Soleil was born on the streets of a small Quebec town; Baie Saint Paul in 1982. Audiences were captured in thrall at the spectacular displays of juggling, fire eating and stilt walking. Realizing that the crowds were enjoying the show Cirque du Soleil was formed in 1984, just in time for the 450th anniversary of Jacques Cartier´s arrival in Canada.
In 1987 the show was taken across the border to the US and it was from then on that international success really took off. The Circus has toured all over the world and its cast represents its global appeal, with 15 different countries represented in Quidam.
