Camp Nou is the famous home of Barcelona FC, and is the largest football club stadium in Europe, with a capacity for almost 99, 000 people. The club moved here from its old stadium, Camp de les Corts, in 1957 after 3 years taken to construct it. Camp Nou (meaning "new ground") was the nickname of Barca's new stadium, but it was used more than its official new name of Estadi del FC Barcelona, and in 2000 there was a vote to change the name officially to Camp Nou.

Some of the historical matches played at Camp Nou over the years:
1972: Rangers 3 - Dynamo Moscow 2 (final, European Cup Winners' Cup)
1982: Belgium 1 - Argentina 0 (opening match, 1982 World Cup)
1992: Spain 3 - Poland 2 (final 1992 Olympics)
1999: Manchester United 2 - Bayern Munich 1 (final Champions League)
To celebrate 50 years of the Camp Nou stadium it was decided to remodel it and to increase the seating capacity by 13,500 seats which will then make it the largest stadium in the world. The British architect, Norman Foster, has been chosen to take on this restructuring project. The estimated cost is €250m.

Barcelona has had some great and legendary players who have played on the Barca football team over the years, such as Lionel Messi (see photo), Ronaldhino, Henrik Larsson, Hristo Stoichkov, Ronaldo, Gianluca Zambrotta, Johan Cruyff.
The Nou Camp has also hosted many famous rock concerts, including:-
