What about the language in Barcelona?

Don´t go down the street singing Viva España.  Whilst Catalunya is still part of Spain it is wise to remember that Barcelona is the capital of Catalunya.  Catalan is the main language for the public administration, schools etc but most Catalans also understand Castellano (Spanish).  For anything related to the toursit industry, including hospitals, English is nearly always spoken.  From the Gaudi Guides to the Beach Bars, everything is written in at least two languages but also often includes Francais, Deutsch and Italiano.
