This one bedroom apartment is in a part of Barcelona that has become very popular recently.  The apartment is one street away from the beach (this is one of the beachside cafes. Photo taken 7th January 2008.)  In an older part of Barcelona, it has real atmosphere in a narrow street.  Barceloneta has modern cafes and restaurants on the outside edges but with original character in the inner streets.  This "village" was originally built for the fisherman.  Restaurants and cafes which are more popular with the locals are throughout the older part of Barceloneta,  

Not only is this apartment great for the beach, you can stroll past the Miro lobster (see home page) along the promenade to the old port.  At the lobster, if you cross the road you enter the old quarter of Barcelona (El Borne) from where you can explore all the way to the Cathedral.
