Many years on, the markets are being renovated. Santa Caterin, nearby to this apartment has been completely renovated and is once again a thriving market for fresh food and seafood. Vibrant colours mix with pungent aromas. But being very practical people, the Catalans have also put a supermarket into the corner of the new market so getting provisions whilst you stay in this apartment is not a problem either.
Your apartment is close to the Cathedral, the Santa Catarina market, El Borne, several museums, Palau de musica and a lovely gentle stroll through parts of the old quarter to Las Ramblas. In fact, this is an excellent location for exploring Barcelona. Your local metro is on the direct line to the beach and Barceloneta and Arc de Triumf and the Sagrada Familia are also easy to get to. The infamous open topped Barcelona Tourist Bus also stops just 150 metres away from your apartment,
