Newly redecorated this fresh apartment is located on the side of Montjuic hill. The apartment is beautifully cool in summer and warm in winter and the quiet atmosphere gives the feeling of a retreat or pied a terre. It has a good, modern and fresh kitchen and dining area and we can certainly imagine romantic dinners for two here if you do not wish to venture out to one of the many local restaurants. There is also a proper bath for soaking away the effects of a day's visiting Barcelona (In Barcelona many apartments only have a shower). We also think you will love the rather artistic toilet seat!
This part of Barcelona used to be famous for it's theatre and communities of actors. The restaurants, squares and the atmosphere lives on in this area and with the beautiful space provided by Montjuic hill literally in front of the apartment it is a nice part of Barcelona. When I first came to Barcelona one of the first restaurants I went to was Can Margarit just below this apartment. Bustling, busy & atmospheric, EVERYONE has to wait for a table. It is part of the "event" that is dining at this restaurant. Whilst waiting you are given a free glass of wine which you choose and pour yourself from a choice of absolutely enormous wine barrels. When you are shown to your table after a few minutes wait you will be able to enjoy traditional Catalan food, well prepared and very tasty. The two owners of the restaurant have also not forgotten the district's history. The restaurant is run with an almost theatrical flourish.
Witihin easy walking distance is Placa Espanya, the Fira, the port and much more. Public transport in Barcelona is good and one of the useful bus routes stops very close to this apartment. The main metro line, the green line, is also close. We think you will also enjoy the cable car across Barcelona Harbour with SPECTACULAR views across the city and beaches. It is easy to get to the starting point of the cable car from this apartment.
