BARCELONA BEACHES
Barcelona's beaches have taken a u-turn, with the classic city beach now being cleaned regularly and monitored by the city council. They are often the place for not just sun lounging but surfing, volleyball, having drinks and meeting people from all over the world. Barcelona beaches are superb. Another very nice place to enjoy beaches in Sitges, less than 1h away from barcelona.

BARCELONA RESTAURANTS
Barcelona is very well known for phenomenal cuisine, including Catalan traditional dishes like butifarra with beans and paella. Other dishes from around the world are also easy to find, whether you decide to go to the centre or not. One of the best times to go out to eat is lunchtime as most restaurants will have the "menu del dia", where one can have a 3 course meal, including wine, for prices ranging from 7-15€.

WATCHING OVER BARCELONA - TIBIDABO
Behind Barcelona is a hill Tibidabo, topped by the Temple de Sagrat Cor and very incongurously alongside the temple an amusement park. Well worth a visit for the view of Barcelona. However, if you stand below the Temple and look up you will see the statue of Christ and you will get the very strange sensation that the statue is falling on you.a
