Barcelona World Yacht Race 2010 - 2011
The Barcelona World Race is the first only double-handed (two-crew), non-stop yacht regatta around the World. This is the 2nd regatta of The Barcelona World Race, the first was in 2007/08.
The start of the race took place on 31 December at 13:00 in Barcelona port infront of The W Hotel. The arrival back in Barcelona of the leading yachts in this race is forecast for the end of March 2011.
The course is from Barcelona to Barcelona via three capes - Good Hope, Leeuwin and Horn, Cook Strait and the length of the course is approximately 25,000 nautical miles (46,300 km) along the Great Circle line (the shortest route traced on a map across the world).
