Is Barcelona expensive?

If you are coming from the UK you will think it very good value, compared to British prices. Try  a menu del dia (lunchtime 3 course menu, including wine!) for just 8€ (5pounds!).  Public transport is very good.  Buy a T10 ticket at a machine in any Metro or Tabac shop and you will be able to move around Barcelona for just 69 cents per trip, from the Rambla to Sagrada Familia.  In fact the ticket will allow you to go from Camp Nou to the Forum (once side of Barcelona to the other) for this price. Designer shops are designer shops wherever you are in the World so don´t expect Barcelona Designer shopping to be less expensive than anywhere else.  But it is much sunnier than London, Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Brussels or Dublin, making it a much more pleasurable experience.
